Fishing is generally best when flows are below 3,000 cfs. Flows are currently at around 1,230 cfs at the gage in Waterloo. The spring chinook fishery is now closed. Fishing for summer steelhead is open year-round and is still quite good through September and into October. About 4,900 summer steelhead have been counted at Willamette Falls so far. The majority of these are in the upper sections above Waterloo, from below the deadline at Wiley Creek to Pleasant Valley boat ramp.
