Ice often melts off the pond in late March or early April. Carbon County will open the pond to public access shortly after ice-off. Rainbow trout are typically stocked at the beginning of each month. Trout catch rates are good during these spring months. We recommend using a piece of nightcrawler fished below a bobber, or trout dough bait fished off the bottom. Lures (such as inline spinners, casting spoons and marabou jigs) and streamers (such as Pistol Pete flies, woolly buggers and leech patterns) can also be effective.
