"Day one here at the rocks was scratch style fishing," noted Intrepid skipper Kevin Osborne July 18. " There were plenty of fish around the boat, but they just didn't want to bite the hooked baits very well. We did scratch out a nice day on quality Tuna and Yellowtails with some of the Yellowfin in the 90-100 lb. range and most of the fish being 50 lbs. or better. The Yellows showed from time to time and even chased down a few surface irons, but never really got with it. There was a special moment for father and son Henry Sorenson and his son Tyler, who teamed up on a nice Yellowfin today. We are going to try for squid tonight and spend another nice day here tomorrow."
