Joe Crisci brought Qualifier 105 home from a seven-day trip with 32 anglers August 27. He weighed the best of his catch, remarking that yellowtail fishing was limit-style on The Ridge. His group also fished at Cedros/Benitos and offshore, where they found good yellowfin tuna fishing.

Ernie Nyri of Santa Rosa won first place for a 44.6-pound yellowtail. He said he took it with a sardine on a 5/0 Gamakatsu hook on 40-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon, and that he fished with 40-pound Big Game line on an Avet LX reel and a seven-foot Ugly Stick rod.

Jeff Tseng of Cerritos won second place for a 43.6-pound yellowfin tuna, and Alex Christianson of Cotati won third place for a 43-pound yellowfin.
