Excel returns from an 8 Day Trip that yielded some nice Wahoo and Yellowtail

Excel docked under Mike Ramirez' hand at Fisherman's Landing October 23 after an eight-day trip with 32 anglers aboard. They found good fishing, said Mike. "It was a lot of fun," he remarked. "We saw a lot of life."

A gold Raider jig turned the trick for Russell Fujizawa of Gardena, who got a 40-pound wahoo and won first place. He said he used 50-pound Izorline and 65-pound Izorline spectra on an Avet HX reel and Calstar 850 H rod.

William Ring of Mission Viejo won second place for a 38-pound wahoo, and Richard Ogawa of Palo Alto took third place for his 36-pound yellowtail.
