The release from Lost Creek is around 1,575cfs. The flow at Gold Ray is around 1,680cfs. River temperature out of the reservoir is 54F. Summer steelhead continue to migrate into the upper Rogue. Chinook harvest is now closed upstream of Fishers Ferry. Starting Sept 1 bait and lures are prohibited upstream of Fishers Ferry. Fishing continues to be good for rainbow and cutthroat trout, but only adipose fin clipped rainbow trout over 8 inches may be harvested. Other trout must be released immediately unharmed.

Cole Rivers Hatchery returns as of 9/16/25:

  • Spring Chinook
    • New Fish: 75
    • Season Total: 10,881
  • Summer Steelhead
    • New Fish: 29
    • Season Total: 1,184

Anglers, please use proper catch-and-release techniques, such as keeping fish in the water as much as possible and releasing them quickly. Spring Chinook have started spawning, so please be carefull not to step on redds/nests if wading. Remember that smaller rainbow are usually the steelhead that will return in future years.
