Fall fishing is in full swing. Brown trout have been spotted clearing redds and the trout have been eager to feed. We might still be a bit early for an egg bite, but that will pick up soon. Crayfish are starting to become scarce as water temps are falling off, but fish will still be looking for them still.

Mayfly nymphs and Caddis pupa patterns in sizes #14-18 have been working well. With some unsettled weather in the forecast, look to fish worms and flashy/colorful flies to catch the trout’s attention if the water turns off color. Streamers are a good choice as the fish become concentrated in the Fall they will become aggressive and territorial.

Flies we suggest: Carot, Fire Starter, OCD Caddis, BH Krystal Caddis, Micro Mayfly, Pheasant Tail Jig, Ready Baetis, Olive Hot Spot, Pearl & Orange, Parachute Adams, Galloups Dungeon, October Truckee River Selection
