Trout fishing was good over the weekend. Limits were common given better weather. A plant of trout from DFW went in Tuesday. June Lake Marina (760) 648-7726; Trout bite has picked up and catch rates have improved. Limits are common. Nightcrawlers, Power Bait or Thomas Bouyants work well. Gull Lake Marina (760) 648-7539; With the cooler weather we saw some great fish being caught on Silver Lake, Rush Creek and Grant Lake this past week up near the surface. Most anglers were seeing the best results right at day light which means you have to get up early on your vacation to catch the nice Rainbows but the extra effort should pay off. Not much has changed in the form of what is working best this week as Berkley Mice Tails in all colors, Berkley Dough Baits with Glitter and Garlic and an occasional worm saw some good results again this week. I would still work on taking these baits to the bottom of the lake with about a 30″ leader for best results. Also we are seeing some great results this week on the waters with the ever stable Thomas Buoyant Gold/Red and Rainbow pattern. We saw a number of two plus pounders come in this week at Silver Lake but over this weekend Grant Lake was the hot spot with a number of great Rainbows being caught in the narrows of Grant Lake. Silver Lake (760) 648-7525
