Right Now it’s Mainly a Morning Thing!

The East is running at about 178 cfs right now, the fishing has been fair, most anglers are reporting getting into 1 to 5 or 6 fish for a morning session. The water is getting a little too warm after about 11:00 or so in the morning so right now it’s mainly a morning thing. Most of the reports we’ve been getting are nymphing but the dead drift crayfish action has increased as well as a bit of hopper action on top. In the mornings the fish are fighting well and releasing strong so at this point there doesn’t seem to be too much worry about the fish being too stressed, however, after about 11:ooam it would be advisable to leave them alone for the remainder of the day. There are good numbers of fish hanging out in swift water, probably due to the better oxygen levels there. Try to use heavy tippets, get fish in quickly, refrain from photos, and get them back home asap.
