On Saturday, March 30, 2019, 501 fisherman attended the final 2019 San Bernardino County Regional Park Trout Derby. The derby was held at Prado Regional Park in Chino, CA. A total of 96 trout were caught and registered, with the top trout weighing in at 11 lbs. 15 oz. It was caught by Apolonio Elzondo from Mira Loma, CA using a worm. Twenty-four additional prizes were given out for trout weighing 8 lbs. to 2 lbs. 3 oz.

Backside of lower lake closest to the dam has produced the heaviest stringers of trout. Trout worms in orange, pink, and white on a mini jig or above a drop shot has aided in this weeks success. Chartreuse Powerbait on a short 8- 10" leader yields are second only to the small plastic worms. Inflated Nightcrawlers on 8-10" leaders are also bringing in some trout.
