Today was another successful, although challenging day for rockfishing. In true springtime fashion, we had to work for them. That hard work paid off, with all customers walking away with their limits of rockfish. During the springtime, fish can be lethargic and otherwise stubborn, so getting them to bite requires the proper gear. Although it is not glorious, the HMB shrimp flys have been outproducing any other lure or jig. The captain highly recommends having a few shrimp flys in your tackle box, just in case your favorite jig or lure is not producing when you come out. Have no fear if you happen to forget them! You can always pick some up in the morning at the HMB Sportfishing Tackle Shop, where you check in prior to departure.
