Castaic Lake rose to 54 percent of capacity with water temps in the low sixties. Anglers reported high winds and decent fishing. Bass fishing could break wide open any day now. Green Pumpkin Senkos, brown drop shot straight tail worms, and shad colored Carolina rigs will definitely be some of the top producers. Anglers reported an emerging topwater bite which will only improve for the next several months. Jerkbaits fished in the mudlines have been catching both bass and striper. Striper also went for cut sardines and lugworms in 25 to 50 feet of water throughout the lake. The Striped bass are in full spawn mode and bait has been the best choice lately. Catfish anglers fooled fish with cut baits, dip bait, and chicken liver.
