Fish Consumption Advisory for Flathead Catfish

We are issuing a Fish Consumption Advisory for Flathead Catfish caught from Patagonia Lake State Park in Santa Cruz County #AZ, due to elevated levels of mercury found in fish tissue. Recommendations are for adults to limit consumption to 2.5 oz/week and children to 2 oz/month.
Other recreational activities at the lake – including swimming – are not affected by this advisory and are encouraged for enjoying the great outdoors. #AZAnglers
Redear Sunfish and Bluegill in Patagonia Lake are OK to eat without limits, per standard dietary guidelines.
