28.3 lb. Striper

This is a great catch our local angler Mark Kuchczynski landed this nice striper while fishing off of his jet ski. This striper weighed in at 28.3 pounds and was 43 inches. Mark was fishing with anchovies and doing well with the ones in the 1 to 3 pond range. This is a great reminder that our larger stripers are out there and not just landed on swim baits.  So, make sure you have a good knot, and your drag is set. Swim baits are my favorite but how ever anchovies will just bring in a lot of fish and the smaller ones are easy to clean and make great meals for family and friend gatherings.

I am still getting reports of stripers being picked up in various locations community park area remains one of our more popular and productive spots. I have been also getting the word of rainbow trout in the 16 to 18 in range coming in on power bait and night crawlers. The Smallmouth bass are being most active on up on Lake Mohave with trolling working well using various lures or an umbrella rig.

The shore of the Colorado River here below the Davis Dam has been another great area for the Smallmouth bass. I am getting reports of some of the smallies being landed in the upriver side of community park area.

Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and your story mostly thanks so much for all of the support.
