A nice catch by our local angler Will Ashburn. He was fishing from shore in the Community Park area and landed a limit of Rainbow trout and a surprise catch a 3.26-pound Smallmouth bass at 18 and 1/2 inches. Will was using power bait while fishing for the trout, so the small mouth bass was a fun catch, he said it was peeling off line as he was fishing with a light trout pole. That is why he is holding the pole in the picture. This shows we do have some small mouth bass here along our shores of the Colorado River. These fish seem to have to be more and more readily available and can be found in various locations.

 I am getting some great reports that up on Lake Mohave the smallies are running in the 3-to-6-pound range. This is going to make the western outdoor news tournament interesting.

We are still getting a lot of striped bass in the 1-to-3-pound range along our shore here below the Davis Dam. I am getting reports that a few of the coves up on the lake also has produced a few in the same size range. We will be getting into our trout season soon usually the first week of October I will try and get updates as we get closer.
