Access to the lake is open. The concrete boat launch is in the water and launching a boat is achievable. Water clarity is excellent, but an algae bloom is present and may impact fish behavior. Only boats with a 10-horsepower motor or less are allowed on Cataract Lake. The bass limit is two (minimum size 13 inches) and the channel catfish limit is four. Surface water temperature was 74.6 F, pH 9.01, D.O. 5.3 on 8/16/2022. The lake's water temperature is not suitable for stocking fish; stocking will resume once conditions improve.
