Road access to the lake, day use, and boat launch are open, but the campground is closed for the winter. Rainbow trout will be stocked this week. The lake is full and the water clarity is good. Warmwater species like largemouth bass, green sunfish, and crappie are becoming less active as they transition to deeper water where they will congregate around cover like trees, rocks, and weeds. Trout are being caught on small lures, flies, and bait. One angler recently reported catching a nice brown trout on a brown wooly worm. Only boats with electric motors are allowed on Dogtown Lake. No gas-powered motors. The limit is 2 bass minimum size 13 inches, the limit is 4 channel catfish.
