The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will hold a public hearing on proposed regulatory changes to expressly prohibit California-caught salmon deliveries out of state.

Amendments to sections 105.1 and 182 of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations are needed for consistency with federal regulations, to aid enforcement efforts, and to provide clarity to the salmon industry and the public.

CDFW is seeking comments on the proposed amendments as required by Fish and Game Code Section 7652.2. Public input can be provided to CDFW on or prior to the public hearing scheduled for 1 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2022. For contact information, information on the virtual hearing, and the proposed regulatory language, please visit the CDFW website at: wildlife.ca.gov/Notices/Regulations/Commercial-Salmon-Landing
