Water Conditions
On the Little Truckee River, the flows and conditions are good for this time of the year. Water is flowing out from the bottom of the stampede reservoir dam at about 108 CFS and the temperature and clarity couldn’t be more ideal.
Tips for the Week
During these warmer months, the fish on the Little Truckee River are looking for the faster water which contains more oxygen. Anglers should fish the faster pockets and use stealthly tactics for best results. Anglers should use 6x tippet on a 5 weight rod. The better the drift, the better the chance of landing one here. Some popular tactics to fish on the Little Truckee River right now are dry fly fishing or indicator nymphing.
Suggested Flies
Blue Winged Olives, Pale Morning Duns, Cravens mole fly size #18, juju emerger 20, Griffiths gnat size 20, juju baetis size 18, rainbow warrior #18
