Water Conditions
On the Truckee River, the flows are low through town. The best flows are below the Boca confluence towards stateline. Fish are currently spread throughout the pools and the riffles on the Truckee River. Flows are 94 CFS in the town of Truckee, 121 CFS in Glenshire and 611 CFS at the stateline.
Tips for the Week
Tightline nymphing or indicator nymphing still seem to be best tactics on the Truckee River lately. Most fish are holding in the fast water around structures and the heads of the pools. That is where most of the oxygen is right now. Dry fly action on the Truckee River is still doing well in the evenings too.
Suggested Flies or Lures
Some suggested tightline favorites to try this week are slim jim jigs, peaches and cream, jigster baetis and the iron lotus to represent the blue wing olive nymphs. San Juan worms and small crayfish patterns are also working well.
