Water temps down to the gage above the North Fork confluence show it is staying below 65 F most of the time, so fishing above Pigeon Point should be fine. Keep an eye on the temps though, playing a fish in anything north of that can be difficult to revive them. There are a few fish in the system and the water is in good shape. Fish will eat Rubberlegs, Red Copper Johns, Purple Psycho Princes, and just about anything dead drifted within their feeding envelope. But, this is the time to get after it with the two-hander rods with a Copper Assassin, Green Butt Skunk, or a Hoody's Hangar. Next month the Trinity will be rocking and rolling with fish. We can't wait!

Early Summer Run Steelhead on the Trinity River will take swung flies readily. Spey rods are becoming an increasingly popular method to swing flies.
