As of 1/23/24 ice is NOT safe at South Fork Reservoir. Warmer temps have resulted in the recession of the initial ice up. However, there is opportunity for open water fishing on the southwest side of the lake.  Shoreline anglers are catching rainbow trout in the 15″-18” range, with a few brown trout in the mix. A worm 5′ under a bobber is the go-to for spin anglers, while fly anglers continue to have success with leech patterns.
