EAST WALKER RIVER       

The East Walker on the California side of the state line is closed until April 27. 2024. The Nevada side of the river is open through the Winter. 

The flows on the EW today are 163 cfs, this is up from 108 a few days ago. I haven’t talked to anyone since the bump but the river has been fishing very well. Lots of good nymph action as well as a few good streamer and dry reports lately. The flows will probably be up and down for a while depending on the water needed downstream as well as the water coming off the mountain. Some patterns to try down there include: copper john, prince nymph, poxyback stone, micro stone, iron sally, caddis larvae, buckskin caddis, darth baitis, psycho prince, chubby Chernobyl, madam X, Dali lama, sculpzilla, dead drift crayfish.                  

SCEIRINE RANCH      

Haven’t had any reports from the ranch lately but we do have some clients booked up for next week, we’ll try to get some reports from them and let you know what’s up. It’s llikely fishing similar to the Rosachi section with the same patterns being successful as listed above. We’re starting to get a fair amount of bookings so if you want some time on the ranch give is a call.    

HUNEWILL POND 

I went to check out the pond this morning with a couple buddies and it’s definitely ready to roll! We had a very good morning with small leech patterns and soft hackles. Lots of fish rising all across the pond for most of the morning. I think between the 3 of us we probably landed at least 20 fish and likely farmed just as many. I think every fish we caught was between 3 and 5 pounds!!! These fish have nearly doubled in size from last year, they are absolute HOGS! All that being said, we’re ready to start booking time on the pond so just give us a call if you want to get on the calendar!

WEST WALKER RIVER              

Haven’t heard any news from the West lately, if you’re going to hit that up I would suggest fishing some of the more sunny sections, be very stealthy so as not to spook the fish and try some attractor nymphs like copper johns, perdigons an hare’s ears as well as some small wooly bugger type streamers.
