The Lower Deschutes is fishing very well. The hatch has worked its way up to the day stretch section and beyond and dry fly fishing around that area is on. Dry-dropper setups are a great method to utilize to target the fish feeding on the surface as well as the ones feeding below. Fishing in close to the banks and underneath overhanging bushes and trees will help you find fish keyed on the surface. For droppers frenchies, pheasant tails, duracells and micro-mays have been some recent favorites. Now is the time to hit the day stretch for big bugs.
