Fishing has been good

The flows from Lewiston Dam remain at 1,500 CFS to make room in the reservoirs for additional precipitation.
Fishing has been good, most anglers are concentrating on the top end of the river as the tributaries are making for a lot of flow as you go lower in the system. Larger fish are coming up from the lower river, and you can expect to see pods of fish all the way from Cedar Flat up into Lewiston. Keep an eye on the flow gage just above the North Fork and when it drops below 1,900 CFS you will be able to find more water to swing below Pigeon Point. Best nymphs remain the Duracell, Olive Hotspot, Black Perdigon, Rubberlegs and egg patterns. Skagits, tips and large intruders or tube flies will get the job done. Pick your favorite color, tie it on and fish it! Winter steelheading on the Trinity in December is really going, if you would like to set up a trip give us a call (530)222-3555.

Steelhead Fishing Can be Frustrating
These anadromous rainbow trout are known as the 'Fish of a Thousand Casts.' For good reason! The learning curve can be quite steep learning when and where to go, and what type of water to target. Our Professional Guide Staff has decades of experience guiding the Trinity River for steelhead. A day spent with one of our guides will get you up to speed much more quickly.
