For Lahontans, Grimes and Blue (north of Spectacle) are excellent bets.?? Damsel nymphs are demanding the big cutts' attention daily, as will Callibaetis nymphs, chironomids and bloodworms.?? Leeches and Dragons in the evening (or night!).
Chopaka has provided some very large rainbows, but their numbers are down, with Smallie numbers up.?? Crowds are down, too, though, so might be worth meeting some "piggy fish" on Damsels, Callibaetis, Chironomids, etc?ΔΆ?? before it gets re-habbed this fall.??
Damsel time is upon us, and there's been some good reports coming from Aeneas, Sinlahekin Blue, Big Twin and others.?? Given a couple, few days, this area is well worth the small journey!
5 hours NORTH OF SEATTLE
Kamloops/Merritt/Little Fort area lakes are running "early" as well.?? Think "March" in late May/early June.?? We'll keep a finger on the pulse of these lakes, and will update as soon as things get going (starting with deep-water chironomiding!).
