Current River Conditions: Good fishing is happening on the Trinity, but a few tough days have occurred this week, so we can't just say "fishing great". Fresh steelhead have arrived! Fishing was good today! We expect the Trinity to kick out good fishing through mid March, at least!
Icy road conditions mean your journey on HWY 299, west of Buckhorn summit, will be a careful, slow one.
The Fly Shop's?? Tips: A variety of techniques, using your 8-9 wt rod for Salmon, or a more adaptable 5-6 wt fly rod for small steelhead and aggressive browns will tie you into fish. Suspending nymphs under an indicator, stripping buggers and leeches, swinging muddlers or PT nymphs will produce hook-ups! Even dry flies should be in the plan. Bring a parachute Adams! Hey! The King Salmon will eat nymphs suspended under indicators. What a blast!
Road Conditions: Expect icy conditions in the AM and evening hours. Be very careful. Call 1-800.427.7623 for up to date Northern California Road Conditions.
