Given some time, this is a good area to hit right now, as decent reports continue to consistently filter into the shop.?? The Quillayute system has been the stand-out so far, but cooler spells bring the Hoh into the equation as it receives a fair shake of summer-runs, with Dollies poised to save anglers from unwelcome skunkings.?? For that matter, the Sol Duc should start receiving its early sea-run cutts any day now.

For those with the trout bug, try the Elwha, due to close for dam removal in ???09.?? Fish it between Mills and Aldwell (mostly in the Park) for easy access and the occasional fish into the teens, or go for broke and pack on in upstream, where plenty of 12" to 16"+ fish reside, some who have not yet felt a barbless hook.?? While Elwha fish are normally opportunistic, hence attractor dries (Stimulators, Wulff's, Humpies, etc.) do well most of the time, the river is just rich enough to encourage selectivity at times, so be prepared with assorted caddis, PMD's, Golden Stones, and little Lime Sallies.??
