Skipper Norm Kagawa docked his Shogun after a Seeker chartered five-day trip. The boat unloaded at Point Loma Sportfishing. Seeker Rep Bill "Willy" Casper, Jr. said they "fished albacore for a day and a half, before going to Cedros Island for some good quality yellowtail."

"We had beautiful flat-calm weather the whole trip," continued Casper, nodding at some of his bigger longfin at the scales. "Look at this albacore, it's a slug!"

Casper won the first two spots in the jackpot, not with his "slug" albacore, but for his 44-pound and 41.6-pound yellowfin.

He was fishing with prototype Mustad 94140 ringed hooks on 50-pound Power Pro Spectra attached to 15-feet of 30-pound Blackwater fluorocarbon topshot, an Avet MXJ 2-speed reel, and a new 670 Super Seeker rod.

"Mustad just introduced that 94140 hook at ICAST," said Casper. "That's all I'm fishing with right now."

Chris Mc Clary of Costa Mesa took third place with a 36.8-pound albacore.

"The Shogun has an outstanding crew," said Mc Clary. "I've been going on this same trip for ten years, and my wife loves it too."
