General Information: This system had a large increase in the flows this past weekened and fishing should improve as the water returns to more normal seasonal levels. Tis river seems to be gettting more and more popular as a Steelhead destination. There are reports of Steelhead in the lower reaches of the river.

Fishing Conditions & Hatches: Flows are at 450 cfs, and the Fly Fishing Only Section is fishing great right now for chrome-bright fresh chinook salmon averaging 10-20 lbs. This should remain a great bet into mid September, and there are increasing numbers of sea run browns starting to show in the system as well.

The Fly Shop's Tips: ??There are a fair number of salmon in the 10-20 lb class in the upper section of the river at this time. Good action was reported on Rubber Legs and other Big Stones, Red or Blue Copper Johns, and Poxyback Hare's Ears. This is good fun while it lasts and a 9 or 10 wt rod is a good choice for this type of fishing.
