Surface temps have dropped about to 68 degrees. Water clarity is good and the hex hatch is going off a bit early. Bite is scattered all around the lake and best bite has been early. Trout are averaging two pounds, some go to four pounds.

Almanor West area had several reports of good fishing working within 300 yards in and closer. Big Spring is becoming more active. The A-Frame too. Hamilton Branch and the east shore have been quiet. Canyon Dam trollers reported fair to good fishing around the edges, but there is still  no dock in place. Doug Neal: (530) 258-6732 http://www.almanorfishingadventures.com
