A couple, few weeks of BWO's remain for those who don't mind fishing #20's (fish #22's if you dare?Ķ) to actively feeding fish.?? Most days will reveal surface feeding to some degree, though on some days the fish may stay decidedly "on the nymphs".?? Between noon and 4pm, be on the lookout for these tiny mayflies and rising fish.?? Short of "noses showing", present the nymphal stage with confidence, perhaps doubling up with a bead-head point, and non-bead head dropper.?? If fish seem to be tending to feed high in the column, just not in the film, hang the non-bead head off a parachute Adams, or an orange stimi (the Octobers are waning, but the adults should still be recognized through the next week).?? As November moseys into mid-month, look for the start time of the hatch to move past 2pm to even 3pm (the time by which water warms to hatch-temp). ??

Before long, we'll be hoping for rare, good midge hatches to satisfy the dry-fly hunger.?? Otherwise, it'll be attractor nymphs and streamer time.?? Winter is on the way.
