Fishing should be good! December is one of the best months to fish Baum Lake. Anglers fishing small midge patterns like Zebra Midge and Chromies should do well.
We expect the fishing to improve as the weather cools off and days get shorter. It definitely doesn't suck that there's a fish hatchery right there either. Yeah, fish are introduced into Baum regularly. Go get your fly rod bent! Expect good fishing all sumer long!
Try fishing one of Jay Fair's Burnt Orange Wiggle Tails or Zack's Swimming Leech on a Cortland® Clear Precision Type I Full Sink Line.
This east side venue is a worthwhile spot to cast your next fly. Bring your pontoon boat, pram, driftboat or float tube. Get on the water early for best dry fly chances throwing #18 Adams or BWO patterns. Fish midge nymphs mid day.
