Conditions have changed drastically since early last week and trying to ice fish here can be dangerous for those who are unfamilar with reading ice conditions! Early this week ice thickness was about 7-8 inches but as stated before since temps have reached 60 for the past couple of days ice may have thinned and become unstable.

Don't Trust the Ice
Boca ReservoirWas out on Boca on Monday and ice thickness around the dam was about 7-8 inches but with the current warm temps we've had this week only those who really trust the thinning ice are going out. The Inlet area of this lake is open water and some have had good success catching rainbows here. Flows are Great
Current flows are great right now and with the warmer temps during the day it is a great time to get out and fish the Big Truckee! From Glenshire down to State Line it has been pretty good for this time of year and the trout being caught look healthy.
