Flows have increased substantially to 3,020 cfs bringing more steelhead into the system and thinning out the crowds. Swinging popcicles, egg sucking and rabbit leeches are the most productive patterns. A Skagit line will turn over heavy wet flies and a 10’ sink tip. Big, bright, egg patterns with heavy split shot under an indicator is popular in riffles and tailouts. Best fishing is early and late when fish are more active. These steelhead are an Eel river strain and some fish over 10 lbs showing.
