The weather did not hold back a record turnout at the 12th annual Sand Crab Classic. Over 300 contestants battled high swell and rain conditions but their spirits never wavered.  The Grandmaster winner was Chris Tran with a Barred surf perch at 2lb 6oz.  He was using clams at Rio del Mar when he pulled in the winning fish against a washed out swell. The trophy he received was 4 ft tall, bigger than the bass pros get!  Can't wait to see what the Sand Crab Classic has in store for next year as they continue to grow.
