Steelhead angling is still open in the Coquille Basin until April 30. All steelhead rivers in the Coquille Basin are running high and muddy from the recent rains. A fresh run of steelhead moved into the South Fork Coquille River before the most recent rains. In the Coquille Basin one additional hatchery steelhead may be retained per day for a total aggregate of three adult fish harvested daily.
Crabbing has been slow in the Coquille due to the amount of freshwater in the bay from the recent rain. It is still recommended you discard the crab viscera (guts/butter) before cooking.
