Emigrant will be stocked this week with 1,000 legal-sized rainbow trout. Anglers need to be prepared for turbid water, however. Still fishing with bait or using lures that will put off vibrations in the water will be most effective. Bass anglers may want to fish with crank baits. Bass, panfish and trout are available, and juvenile spring Chinook salmon have been stocked in recent years. Warmwater fishing will pick up with warmer weather. Emigrant Reservoir is currently at 93 percent of capacity.
