Eric Wedele skippered the Qualifier 105 on a ten-day trip that returned to Point Loma Sportfishing December 4.

"We had good dorado fishing for 20 to 35-pounders below Mag Bay in open water," he said. At Alijos Rocks we got tuna up to 125 pounds and some 20 to 35-pounders as well. We also got 12 to 18-pound yellowtail at San Pablo.

Jeff Lewis of Fullerton won first place, for a 125-pound yellowfin he bagged with a sardine on a 2/0 ringed Super Mutu hook. He said he used 50-pound Izorline and 65-pound Izorline Spectra backing on a TLD 20 reel and a Calstar 760 M rod.

"It was windy," said Lewis. "It was a big battle on 50-pound line. He got 300 yards off me."

Jim Williamson of Gallup, NM was second for a 111-pound tuna, and commercial real estate broker Kelly Colofimo of San Diego, a six-year long range fisherwoman, got a 110-pounder for third place.

"I got three tuna," said Kelly. Bill Hale of Thousand Oaks stood in with the winners holding his honorable mention 11.4-pound tuna.
