Rainbow trout have been stocked, and most anglers are having success throwing trout imitations for monster bass.
Also, first thing in the morning, anglers can spot shad boils and throw jerk baits and small swim baits. Anglers should be able to draw reaction strikes using jerk baits, crankbaits and, at certain times, spinner baits and top-water baits can really come into play. The jerk bait should be the main bait.
Matching the hatch can be particularly crucial. Use small baits, such as a small swim bait on a ¼-ounce jighead.
Liar’s Corner reported good top-water action and big bass being caught on dropshots. Roboworms in a morning dawn color is popular and usually effective with dropshots. Look for use of reaction baits to pick up. Many anglers will be fishing at night using 7-10-inch Roboworms. This is a good time to possibly see or hear desert bighorn sheep in the rut.
A new fishing pier has been ordered for Canyon Lake Boulder Creek Recreation Area.
Lake level is 1,658 feet (97-percent full.)

With the salmon fishing season closing October 31, the season limps along with very little to show for it. Only 1 charter boat ventured out to record 4 salmon to 22 pounds for 10 anglers.
