As of April 23 access from Riley on USFS roads 45s/45 will get you to within 6 miles of the lake before you encounter remaining snow drifts. The lake is assumed to be ice-free. Reports of several hundred dead fish suggest a winterkill has occurred. It’s unknown if any trout remain in the lake. The lake will be restocked in late May once hatchery trucks can access the lake.
