Here we are into June with daytime temperatures reaching into the high nineties.  But  that should not keep you off the water, because there are still plenty of striped bass and sturgeon on both the San Joaquin and Sacramento rivers.  With the snow pack now holding at 202 percent of average streams and rivers will continue to pump flows of cooler waters into the Delta Region for months to come.  Striped bass will continue to be caught trolling, casting artificial lures and at anchor dunking that favorite bait of yours.

The sturgeon fishing remains solid with good numbers showing in Suisun Cut and Montezuma Slough where the basic shrimp baits and salmon roe remains the top baits.  For largemouth bass head over into the Cache Slough area where the action remains solid tossing Beaver and D Bomb creature baits into the thick weed mats, structure and along the rip-rap.  Outgoing tides have been best.  The south Delta presently is offering anglers a larger grade of largemouth bass tossing crank baits, swimsuits and spinnerbaits into the weed beds and structure especially on the outgoing tides.  The bass are averaging 3 to 5 pounds, into an occasional 7 to 8 pounder in the mix.  Remember during the warmer summer months to take plenty of bottled water with you to prevent getting dehydrated.
