Seasonal aquatic vegetation growth has begun. Weedless hooks are recommended if you want to spend more time catching bass and crappie, and less time freeing a stuck hook. Bass are active and hitting jigs and plastics. Crappie action is picking up at Haymeadow and Cold Springs reservoirs. Anglers are using small jigs and night crawlers to catch the fish.
