The flows have been dropped out of Lake Tahoe and the snow melt has subsided meaning great conditions here on the Truckee! There have now been some significant hatches throughout the day including PMD’s mid-morning and green drakes sporadically mid-day and then caddis are a constant in the evening. Nymphing between hatches has been the best bet for consistent action throughout the day. With the amount of people fishing the river now we are recommending that you seek out the quieter water for better fishing and the canyon section will be a great option with the recent drop in flows as many of these fish have probably not seen a fly in months.

FLOWS:

Tahoe City:210 CFS
Glenshire: 506 CFS
Boca Conf.: 624 CFS
Farad: 767 CFS

RECOMMENDED GEAR:

9-10 Ft. 5-7 Wt. Rod with 3-5x Tippet Flies: Green Drakes, PMD’s, BWO’s, Flavs, Midges, Caddis, Golden Stones, Crawdads and Sculpins
