Beautiful Bucks Lake has been fishing good this summer. Due to the big winter snows access was later in  May than normal, and many of our early season Mackinaw trips were turned into Trophy Trout trips at Lake Almanor. Once we were able to access Bucks, we found the lake full and the fish biting. Beautiful colored Browns and Bows along with some Mackinaw, Brookies and Kokanee. Kokanee is the name of the game during the summers at Bucks and this year is no different. Bucks, with its enhanced 10 Kokanee per person limit, has been kicking out big numbers and exciting action on the feisty Sockeyes.

When I say action, I mean multiple double, triple and even 4 way hookups, with the numbers bearing out 40 to 60 hookups by 8 or 9 am in the morning and usually early limits. In addition to the little salmon, the trout are biting as well in both the Bucks and Mill Creek arms of the lake with some smaller Mackinaw showing but for the most part the big Trophy Lakers a generally quiet this time of year.

If this sounds like fun to you, we have some open dates for Bucks Lake during August and September, contact us to secure your dates and lets go fishing.
