East Walker River
The East is still running at about 20 cfs. We haven’t been getting a lot of reports but the reports we have been getting have been pretty good. Most of the anglers we’ve talked to have been reporting 5 to 15 fish per day, it seems that most of the fish being reported are in the 14 to 21 inch range and a good mix of browns and rainbows. Most of the action has been on small nymphs though there is a little bit of streamer action and a little bit of dry action. Because the water is so low you’ll have to search out the deeper pools where the fish are hanging out. The best time of the day to fish this time of the year is from about 10 to 3.  

Patterns to try: Flashback emerger, WD-40, squirmy wormy, San Juan worm, zebra midge, rainbow warrior, silver streak, blue dun, black midge, BWO, zuddler, peanut envy, double bunny

Sceirine Ranch
The ranch fished well this week with anglers reporting 15 to 20 fish per day. There were lots of fish caught on egg patterns, small nymphs and some on streamers. No one had any success with dries that we know of. As with the California side, the best time of the day is from about 10 to 3. Most of the fish have been running from about 15 to 20 inches down there lately. Give us a call if you want to book some time on the ranch.Hunewill Pond

The pond is frozen for the time being, hopefully in late February or March it will thaw and we’ll get back at it.
