I knew the weather was going to be unstable during the tournament, during practice the weather was fairly consistent with sunshine and little wind at times. The water temperature was 50-52 degrees and water was very clear where I was fishing. I was fishing around the dam area and behind an island in the Sac arm. I was fortunate to find two areas that was holding fish in the 2-3 pound range. During the tournament I would run back and forth between two spots. The good thing was that the fish would keep moving up into the area.

On day one, I weighed in 11.80 with four fish just over two pounds each. On day two I had all five fish over two pounds for 12.28 pounds. Day three was a little tougher for me and most of the anglers. I did manage a limit for 10.02 pounds to finish in 7th place. All my fish came from 20 to 40 feet on a Frenzy baits nail in the 3/16 oz. with a Zoom trick worm dragging and shaking very, very slow.

This is a great way to start the season. I want to congratulate Double G on the impressive come back to win the event. See everyone at the next one on New Melones.
