Water Conditions: Opening Day is April 28. Expect a much better opener this year than last.
Fishing Conditions & Hatches: Whereas the Fall was blown out last year for the Opener, things are looking good for this year. The PMD's will likely start hatching early, with a good spinnerfall by early May.
Flies: Norman's Wiggle Tail 14- 18's, H.B.I. or BS nymphs #16-20 * Mercer's Micro-Mayfly nymph #16-18 * Quigly's Micro Caddis * Mercer's Gidget * PMD Silhouette Dun #16-18 * Parachute Adams#20 * Scum Dun PMD #18 * Light Cahill #18 * Zug Bug #14-18 * Crystal Buggers Olv.-Blk #8-12 * Leeches #10-12 * Flashback P.T. nymphs #14-18 * Micro Poopah #18 * Tilt Wing Duns * Last Chance Cripples *
The Fly Shop's Tips: The entire river is bordered by private land. There is no wade fishing on this river unless you are 20ft tall. A small pram, canoe, or aluminum boat are the tools of the trade for Fall River anglers. If you have technical spring creek skills in your blood, this is the place to go. Don't limit yourself to traditional methods either. Water level and temperature is always steady. Take sun screen and mosquito repellant.
