We had a great time shad fishing today and managed to beat the heat with some swimming and wade fishing along the way.

Shad are everywhere in the American right now and biting!  Swing red, white, and silver shad flies with a sink tip. Fish are still more concentrated in the lower and middle stretches of the river.  With the low river flows and high temperatures, we may have a short season for shad this year, so go get some while they're here.
