With the season openening on 6/1 after a very long closure, the fish were hungry and ready to play last weekend. We averaged 5-6 fish per person. Flows are dropping into shape, but be careful wadingI it's still swift in some places and the river is definitely fishable. Morning and evening Caddis hatches are yielding some solid dry fly action, and as the temperatures rise, nymphing Caddis and Mayfly patterns are getting it done. Hunting for large trout is dawn/dusk fishing the deep pools with large, unweighted flies. (frogs.. wink wink) Don't forget to Keep em' Wet! this is wild fish country and we have to take care of them. It's not worth the picture if the fish dies.
